A letter Jacob Fuller sent to Santa through WKRT radio’s Santa Mailroom.
Dear Santa,
Momma says you are very busy this year and may not have many toys for all the kids.
I’m 8 years old now and don’t need much so that is okey. But pleeze don’t forget about
Annie. She’s my 5 year old sister and she has been excited about you coming to our house.
You can give her presents instead of me, Santa. I want her to have a good Christmas.
She may be a pest but she is a pretty good sister. I know Momma does not have much money
this year and so I hope you can help with Annie.
We love you, Santa.
Signed,
Jacob
Jacob woke up Christmas morning to a pile of presents under the tree and tears of happiness in his
mother’s eyes. She said she was very proud of him and handed him a letter from Santa.
Dear Jacob,
Your momma is right that I am very busy this year. But being busy does not mean that I don’t
have lots of toys for good boys like you and good girls like your sister. I have noticed that you
mom is a good mom too so I have added some presents for her. Seeing happy families like
yours makes me happy, too!
Hope you enjoy your gifts,
Love,
Santa
Jacob did enjoy his gifts but he enjoyed watching his sister and mother even more. Annie got a
babydoll and a cradle she wouldn’t let go of even to open other presents. His mom got some
pretty smelling perfume and a warm sweater. But it was the red envelop tucked into the tree
that again brought tears to her eyes.
Dear Jacob’s Mom,
I got Jacob’s letter (a copy for you is enclosed) and couldn’t help but think that this remarkable
child must have a remarkable mother raising him. The selflessness and love he showed for his
sister touched all of us at the North Pole. You are obviously doing something right to
be raising a child like that. Please take this money and use it where you need to. Not an
act of charity, Jacob’s mom, but an act of respect from one parent to another. If this eases
your burden just a bit it can only benefit the rest of your family as well. God Bless You and
Your family this Christmas,
Love, Santa
Jacob sighed in totally contentment as he watched his mom and sister smiling and playing
together. This was his best Christmas ever!
