A Billion Tears

I feel a billion tears flow from my eyes.
Falling upon the caravan of my dreams,
The caravan of jewels and spices Asiatic,
Crawling across the sandy silk road,
Into the reaches of lost time.

The moon so bright shines down, glistening on the pool of tears,
Flowing into the caves carved into the cliffs,
The Buddhist murals once so bright, fading into the night.
The Buddhist murals painted by monks with inner sight.

Warrior symbols, etched in stone, the faces of light,
Peer into the misty depths of ancient history,
The faces of light, peering into the sky,
The faces of light, swinging through the solar arc.
The faces of light flashing into the Northern Lights.

I feel a billion tears flow from their eyes,
The Tibetan eyes of fire, the Tibetan eyes,
Glistening with the tears of inner vision,
The tears falling into the depths of ancient history,
The endless tears carving deep gorges into the mountains,
The fiery tears, the forgotten tears, the tears torn from human faces,
The tears of the snow leopard, the tears of Sherpa,
The tears of monks denied their right to life.
