The Pin Oak

A Pin Oak was he
tall and branchy. His limbs stretched about it the wind.
None of the trees here, could ever come near
to the greatness of his strength and being.
his leaves were small and prickly,
his branches lean and dark.
He loved to scoff the others, the trees of lesser bark.
The wind seemed to blow just for him, to tout his size and sway.
He seemed to the others to be the greatest thing around, until that fateful day.
And then one day something changed.
man came, and cut down his limbs just the same.
And now he stood there naked and small, as all the other tree’s before him.

You see, his pride was too tall,so Man came and took it all,
and with it, the glory he had inside of him.
