Lei to Start

My dreams have come true. Matt Leinart is getting a second chance. Or a mean a third chance, with the Houston Texans.

I said at the beginning of the season, that Leinart would end up starting for this team by the end of the year. But that comment made by me, implied that Matt Schaub wouldn’t carry this team to a division leading record. I know that Manning was injured and he would be out the season, but still, I had no faith in Schaub to leading this team to anything. I take it all back. Schaub led this team to an already conference leading record. One of the teams to beat this season in the AFC, defiantly a team that would face the Steelers for the AFC title, now it is all depleted. A season gone to waste, giving another team the chance to clinch a wild card, now that Chris Johnson is rallying back from a lazy start, the Titans now own the division. Or do they? Will the Texans forfeit the season to a foot injury?

No, this is still the team in the AFC South Division to beet. Third best running offence in the league and the best defense to figure out, giving up a league low 270 yards per game, this is why Schaub strived so well before his injury. Like Schaub, this is why Leinart will continue to win games with the same team Schaub had. Being that it is a running offense, this won’t put pressure on Leinart to force a ball and make a mistake to throw a game, like he did in Arizona. I didn’t think Schaub could get it done this year, but now that I know what he is working with, I now know Leinart will. Leading the Texans to a Division title but not an AFC championship appearance and having tough schedule ahead gives a chance for Leinart to show he can win with a different logo.
