Left Handed and Right Handed Can Opener

If you want to know what I have found then you need to think of something that is silent, not making a sound. This item is used equally with the left hand or the right hand. With this tool I can prevent myself or others from getting cut. I can keep my food from being contaminated from storage dust and grim. There is no left over residue when I use this tool to be carried into the next time’s use. I can use my tool when the power is out. I can take it camping or on picnics. Have you guessed what my favorite new gismo is?

Did you guess a can opener? That is right my favorite new kitchen tool is a hand held can opener.

My new can opener attaches to the can without a sound. The part I turn is on the top instead of on the side like most can openers making it usable with either hand. It turns easily and without a sound. I place my can opener on the top of the can I wish to open and I turn the handle clockwise. This cool tool makes opening a can a breeze. Once around and I remove it from the can then with the tip of my new can opener I lift the lid off of the can. The top of the can never dipped down into my food contaminating the contents with the lid of the can. (Who knows what has been on the outside of those cans.) The blade of my old can opener had to go into my food and it was often coated with dried stuff from previous openings. Not with this new gismo. There is no blade. Furthermore there is no sharp edge on the can or its lid for the metal of the can was never cut. No more cut fingers! No more telling my children to be careful, its sharp. Because it is no longer sharp. This new can opener removes the whole lid that was sealed to the can. How? It undoes the seal.

What is that, you say your power is off? Not to worry, my can opener is powered by me and not by those money hungry power companies. You can use my can opener if you would like. I imagine though you would like your own instead. Where did I get my can opener. You won’t believe me if I tell you. What’s that you’re asking? Oh what store did I buy it from? No, I didn’t buy it in a store. I bought it from Tupperware.

When I showed it to my 18 year old he said “That is awesome mom!” When my 15 year old son saw me using it his words were, “Super cool! That’s super cool!” I agree with both of them.

Now I can use my empty cans for art projects and other uses without worrying about the sharp edges.
