The following is a short list of bible verses which inspire us, if we are indeed worshipers of the one true God, to believe in the Son of God and to likewise live our lives in true repentance and thanksgiving, doing the will of God in all things.
· “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:17
· “whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14
· “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24
· “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day” John 6:54
· “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:40
· “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” John 14:23
· “He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” Revelation 22:13
My original intention was to expound upon the meaning of these texts. But who am I should deem myself capable of improving upon the very words of our God incarnate? Let it suffice for us to reflect upon our Lord’s words, for in them are eternal life, and may “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Matthew 11:15)
My hope is that this mere sampling of the Lord’s promises will inspire us to spend more time studying the scriptures, for it is in them that Christ God is revealed.
