When you are working as a freelance writer, the better that you are at writing articles then the more money that you should be making. The say goes that time is money. For the writers, this means that the more quality articles that you can turn out in a set amount of time then the better your hourly rage is. The problem usually comes up with people not knowing how to increase their speed.
Once you have mastered and sped up your basic ability to type, making yourself more productive writing articles might seem like something that is going to be hard to do. The good news is that there are little ways that you can reset your routine to make you a speed demon when it comes to this money making task.
Step One
Sit down with a list of article titles that you need to write. These could be ones that were given to you by a client or perhaps you are creating content for your own sites and blogs. Either way, this method to being more productive writing articles is going to help you to increase the amount of work that you can get done. Take your list and group the titles together in like topic areas. Lets say that you have 10 articles to write on dog toys, this would be one group of titles.
Step Two
Take one of your title groups and do all of the research that you are going to need for every one of the articles that you are going to create. For many writers, researching is one of the more time consuming aspects of writing articles. Once you find a couple reputable sites that you can get your information from, you will find that you can cut your research time in half by doing what you need for a bunch of topics at one time.
Step Three
Outline each title on how you want to create the content. You could just create main bullet points that you want to hit in each paragraph as your way to outline them. This does not need to be the outlining technique that you learned in school. This is just a way to focus your thoughts to help to make the words flow better when you are writing articles.
Step Four
Write out all of the content for the titles that are in the batch that you have done all of the work for. If you can do this in one sitting, it will make you a bit more productive. Many writers find that once they start, the words will just keep flowing and writing articles becomes simpler.
Step Five
Repeat these steps with every topic area that you need to write articles for.
