When Kevin woke he thought he saw Him reflected in the computer screen.
When he slept again he was standing outside the entrance to the tunnel and he watched the lights inside flicker. In a green windbreaker and jeans, he could smell the burning rubber of tires. When he woke up a second time he slowly got up from the wooden chair at his desk and went in search of something to drink. And in the hall mirror he saw him, and standing outside the kitchen window.
And for the rest of his life he’d see Him.
