Five Bible Verses to Live by Every Day

The Holy Bible serves as inspiration for millions of people each and every day. There are many different verses that hold special meaning, but here are a few that hold great meaning to me and to my friends:

Proverbs 3: 5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

This verse is important to Kelly Culpepper of Gladys, VA because she said it inspires her every day.

“No matter what I’m up against, ” she said. “God is in control.

My friend Lesa Frankenberry of Mt. Point, Penn., said this same verse speaks to her in a way that her legalistic religious upbringing did not.

“It tells me to put everything aside and trust in the Lord,” she said.

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This is one of my favorite Bible verses. For me, this is a shining example that regardless of what happens in my life, my Lord and Savior is there with me. This is one of those verses that I enjoy reading in all different translations, because regardless of which one I read, it is still packed with enormous power and inspiration.

Acts 2:21 “And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

This verse holds the true promise of the Bible. I grew up in a legalistic, single-focus domination that defined salvation more with outward appearances then the condition of the heart. This verse assures me to that salvation rests in a personal relationship between me and my Lord.

Acts 3:6 “…In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene-walk!”

I’ve heard this verse for years, but only last year during an afternoon bible study did it really come alive to me. In context, a healing was about to happen. But, by extension, this is a promise we all have every day of our life. By commanding something to happen in the name of Jesus Christ, we draw all the power and promise of our God. Everything is possible in the Name.

Revelations 22:21 “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.”

This is the last verse of the Bible and one incredibly powerful reminder of everyday life. I wonder how much more pleasant our days would be if we all wished the same upon our fellow man. Amen?
