CSA in Idaho

Community supported agriculture (CSA) makes it possible for urban and rural citizens to share farming. It is a partnership between the consumer and the agricultural producer where the consumer becomes a shareholder who pays a fee at the beginning of the growing season to help with the operating costs for the upcoming growing season. By so doing the consumer receives a portion of the farm’s produce each week until the season ends.

I think that this is a great way to get fresh produce. Receiving a bountiful harvest that is all grown in my own neighborhood is much better than a bountiful harvest trucked in from other states and foreign lands. By using a CSA I’m supporting my neighbor, the kid down the street, the people who attend my local community events, etc.
