Will over the counter anti-depressants help with OCD?
Q: I am about ready to rip out my fucking eyeballs and I only have St. John’s Wart anti-depressant pills because my idiot bitch of a mother won’t fucking believe me when I say I’m LOSING MY GODDAMN MIND. Will they help with these fucking feelings, or am I going to have to just buy every stupid medication they have and get so drugged out that I can’t even think?
A: I’ve never taken St. John’s Wart, but I think you should try taking Vitamin B5. Its called the “anti-stress” vitamin because it supports the healthy functioning of your adrenal glands, the organs that help your body cope with all kinds of stress. It really evens out your mood and helps you deal. I went to counseling and was given a referral for my doctor that I should probably be on anti-depressants; my doctor suggested that I try taking Vitamin B5 first. I couldn’t believe how much it helped. Most multi-vitamins don’t include B5, but you can buy it at probably any drug store. Good luck, I hope this helps you!
Recommended over-the-counter anti-depressants?
Q: Can anyone recommend suitable over-the-counter non-prescription anti-depressants? I am trying to combat my Anxiety and Agrophobia and many medical websites I have been to have said that anti-depressants can be useful in stopping the panic response. I currently live in the UK, so only medication I can get is whatever is available in the UK.Typo: I mean to say Agoraphobia. Also FYI I am seeing a doctor about this, and am taking therapy and do regularly exercise. This is mainly a temporary measure for me to handle going out until I get professional help.
A: i don’t know of any antidepressants over the counter unless it is a organic form such as st johns wort or something like that if there was a over the counter medication for depression i would not take it there are a lot of anti anxiety medication out there that are very effective and do not necessarily have to be taken every day your family doctor can prescribe them for you if this does not help see a psychiatrist a doctor should make the choice for you wether to go on an anti depressant or anxiety medication the doctor will chose , the medication for you, based on your symptoms a psychiatrist has a better understanding and knowledge of medications than a family doctor good luck
Medication without parental consent?
Q: Can I make a psychiatric appointment and get back on medication without parental consent?I’m currently 16 years of age and in the past three years I have been in and out of the mental hospital for manic depression and auditory hallucinations. My mom is very against me taking medications, even if they do help out, she doesn’t care, she is against medications. I quit going to therapy and got off the meds as soon as I got out of the hospital every time I get hospitalized. I started taking over the counter sleeping pills without my mom knowing and their not working anymore. I’m currently at 200mg a night and it doesn’t work, I’ve tried taking NyQuil with the sleeping pills and it does nothing for me I still hear the voices and the thoughts never stop coming. My grades are falling and I just feel like I’m going crazy. Schizophrenia runs in my family and I just want to keep whatever mental condition I have under control as I fear I may become suicidal again. Is there anyway I can see a doctor and get medication prescribed without parental consent. Last time I got Seroquel an anti-depressant and a mood stabilizer prescribed to me but my mom ended up throwing them down the sink the next day. Is there anything I can do?
A: I don’t know the answer to your question, but I will try and find out. You really do need help, it sounds very serious. I would definitely see somebody and explain the situation. You could always lie about your age. They don’t check up on that. Check out this site, apparently it varies from state to state.http://www.apapractice.org/apo/insider/practice/pracmanage/legal/minor.html# I think, also, there is a process for you to get emancipated from your parents. You would need a lawyer and a judge would have to decide. And please stop self medicating. You’re going to accidentally overdose.
