WWE United States Championship Match: John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler (Champion)
Winner: Dolph Ziggler retains the US Championship
Conclusion of Match-up: The ref orders Vickie Guerrero to the back. Vickie leaves the ringside screaming up the ramp. Ziggler counters Morrison’s suplex attempts with a roll-up for a near fall. Both men trade a series of pinfall attempts. Morrison attempts a springboard kick, and Ziggler lands a leg drop for another near fall. Eventually, JoMo attempts StarShip Pain, but Ziggler counters with his knees. Ziggler lands the Zig-Zag to retain the title.
After the match: Vickie comes back to the ring to celebrate Dolph’s successful title defense. Dolph bragged about retaining the title while the crowd chanted for Zack Ryder. (The crowd wanted Ryder inserted in the US Title match and made sure everyone knew it. However, Ryder wasn’t inserted in this match.) Eventually, Ryder came out, and Ziggler and Ryder traded blows. Ryder stood in the end by hitting the Ruff Ryder on Ziggler. Zack did the fist pump with the NY crowd and that segment was done.
LumberJill match for the Divas Title: Eve Torres vs. Beth Phoenix (Champion)
Winner: Beth Phoenix retains the title
Conclusion of Match-Up: Phoenix runs into an elbow from Eve Torres. Then Eve kicked Beth on the side of her head. Eve attempted a moonsault, but Beth stopped her on the turnbuckle. Beth climbed up the turnbuckle, and performed the Glam Slam on Eve from the top rope for the win.
The Rock Promo Backstage: The Rock is seen backstage dressed for action. The Rock cuts a great promo, and discusses his past in the WWE. He talks about his father and grandfather performing at MSG. Rock also discusses his debut at MSG in 1996. The Rock discusses his growth as a wrestler and all of his famous catchphrases. The Rock addresses Awesome Truth by say “boots to a*sses,” and make fun of Cena’s “lady parts.” The crowd gave The Rock a great ovation and booed when he mentioned Cena’s name.
Team Orton vs. Team Barrett
Winner: Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett are the Sole Survivors
Conclusion of Match-Up: Randy Orton takes Cody Rhodes to the 2nd rope and lands his DDT. Wade Barrett gets on the ring apron and distracts Randy Orton. Hunico springboards into the ring and Orton RKO’s Hunico while he still in mid-air. Orton gets the 3-count fall, and Hunico is eliminated. Barrett quickly charges Orton, but Randy lands a backbreaker on Wade. Randy Orton lands the RKO on Cody, and Wade grabs Orton and lands the Wasteland for the win.
Big Show vs. Mark Henry (C) for the World Title
Winner: Mark Henry retains by Disqualification
Conclusion of Match-Up: Big Show climbs to the top rope with the crowd’s approval. He pays tribute to the late great “Randy Savage” by landing a huge elbow drop into Henry’s heart. Big Show attempts a pinfall, but Henry kicks out at 2. The crowd chants “Randy Savage” after Show landed the elbow drop. Big Show attempts the WMD, but Henry dodges it. Henry lands a low blow with his foot and is immediately disqualified. Henry retains his World Title nonetheless.
After the Match: Mark Henry attempts to add Big Show to the “Hall of Pain” once again with his chair attack. However, Big Show dodges it and returns the favor by placing Henry’s ankle in the chair, and landing a leg drop on Henry. Officials have to assist Henry as Big Show leaves the ring.
CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Title
Winner: CM Punk wins the WWE Title
Conclusion of Match-Up: CM Punk makes it to the ropes with his feet and breaks the hold (cross armbreaker). Del Rio quickly charges, but Punk attempts the GTS. Del Rio slides out the way and shoves Punk into Ricardo on the ring apron. Punk blocks Del Rio’s attempts and rolls him up for a near fall. Punk kicks Del Rio in the head, but Del Rio kicks out at two. CM Punk locks in the Anaconda Vise, (to the crowds approval) and Del Rio taps out.
The Rock & John Cena vs. Awesome Truth
Winners: The Rock & John Cena
Conclusion of Match-Up: John Cena finally tags in Rocky. The Rock unloads on Truth and hits him with the Rock Bottom. Next, Rocky hits Miz with a good right hand and applies the Sharpshooter on Miz. R-Truth breaks the hold, but Cena spears Truth, which causes them to roll out the ring. The Miz unloads on The Rock, but Rock responds with the spinebuster and the crowd goes nuts when he lands The People’s Elbow for the win.
After The match: The Rock is at the top turnbuckle posing for the crowd while Cena is clapping for him outside the ring. The Rock asks for his music to be stopped and invites Cena into the ring. While Cena is heading back, he and Rock are having some words with each other. Cena gets in the ring and poses for the crowd on the turnbuckle, and is immediately booed.
The Rock tells Cena to watch him as he poses again and the crowd chants his name. Cena poses for the crowd again, but is met with boos. The Rock shakes his head and asks Cena to leave the ring, because he is going to pose one more time. Cena turns to leave and Rock turns him around for a Rock Bottom. Cena rolls out of the ring in pain as The Rock poses at the top turnbuckle thanking the crowd.
