“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6). Jesus is the way we will get to heaven and be surrounded by God’s grace. His life is how we should strive to make our own. How are we to do that? Study his life and how he interacted with everyone in the New Testament. Take his teachings and lessons on life and adopt them into our lives wholeheartedly. That is how we can lead worthy lives in God’s eyes, by living like Jesus did. It is not enough to just be familiar with what Jesus accomplished, with how he showed love to all the sinners who repented, or to know why he laid hands on the diseased without concern for his own health. We have to live it out in our lives as he did. Do not be content with just knowing what Jesus did but live and love as Jesus did. When we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, we are assured the only place we can be heading in the direction of God’s grace and love.
MISSION: What did Jesus do?
Study the life of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. For each story or parable that Jesus told or was told about him, find the moral. Start discerning Jesus’ pure message by truly seeking his meaning in them. Begin by writing down our thoughts and questions in a notebook dedicated for the teachings of Jesus. Look how Jesus loved, spoke, and taught in each story. Take his love, his words, and his teachings and apply them in our lives the way Jesus did in his life. Let the relationships we have with our families, friends, and even strangers be a wonderful reflection of the life he lived.
