Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, is it Really Worth the Money?

The Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, its an updated version from the Samsung Galaxy S2 from AT&T but it brings them back into the game, finally matching the statistics of the Tmobile version but with added LTE, I would say this phone is honestly one of the best Android phones out there! Turning on the phone for the first time, you have to go through a Google setup wizard, but in less than a minute, you can be surfing on that beautiful 4.5″ AMOLED PLUS screen, with a max resolution of 800 x 400 the screen isn’t HD, with The Skyrocket HD due to release soon.

The Phone has a brilliant 1.5 GHz Snapdragon Dual Core Processor 1 GB of ram with 16 GB of internal storage expandable to 48GB with a 32 GB micro SD card an 8MP rear camera 1080p recording a 2 MP front camera and Bluetooth 3.0 really helps make this one of the best phones on the market. The features are endless, NFC(near field communication), Google Voice, Android Market support, and blazing Fast 4G LTE just top the list but only if your in an area where AT&T can supply 4G LTE(In my area download speeds of over 35 MB/s average)!

At first glance of the phone, all you see is a very nice finish, and great build quality, no creaks or snaps in the casing, but then you look at the battery cover. Every time I take it off, I feel like I’m going to be breaking that cover, which is made of very thin plastic, but after a while you get used to it, and its not as scary. Some of the nice features of the phone are the placements of all the accessories ports, the power cable is a micro usb located on the bottom of the phone. Meanwhile Headphone jack is on top closer to the middle which makes it very comfortable to be listening to music from Pandora with your phone plugged in. The power button on the Top Right Side makes Allows for a comfortable holding position for the phone with plenty of room for large hands!

Using the phone is a whole new experience, It loads very quick from a power up, much faster than an Iphone, and isn’t very cluttered at all because of the layout of Androids Gingerbread OS soon to be Ice Cream Sandwhich, but it might take a while getting used to if your not an experienced Android user! The scrolling functions are flawless, and program loading takes no time at all, but one thing I’ve noticed is there is a lot of Bloatware installed onto the OS which can’t be removed. The camera allows for some Panoramic shooting, and can easily replace most point and shoot cameras. Overall though a beautiful phone rocking a huge screen, Worth the money, especially with Ice Cream Sandwhich coming out soon!
