This is a common state for many people. Yet, do not distress at this prolonged condition that brings frustration and depression. Instead, look for ways to bring joy into your life. During a busy work week there may not enough time for sleep, watching TV, or chatting with friends. However, look on the bright side, important things are getting done and leisure can be enjoyed later on. Being able to support yourself is something to be proud of. It shows capability and maturity. You are in control of your life and are making responsible choices. You should feel proud of not having to depend on another person and also for not having family and friends worry. These reasons are enough to make anyone feel satisfied. Being able to be independent while working towards achieving a more comfortable and fulfilling life is ideal. Thus, adopt the existentialistic idea of looking past drudges that life has thrown at you and feel contentment that you are in control of your own life.

To improve your life you should reevaluate yourself in relation to the outside world. Look for inner and outer influences that subject you to states of happiness and misery in different situations and then find the pros and cons in those situations. Through self-retrospective, resolutions will arise leading towards a more fulfilling life. For example, examine scenarios such as taking a simple walk in the park. Would this activity relieve your stresses of the day? If it does, there goes your solution: taking a brisk walk on days that are stressful would ease your tension. Repeat this type of simple technique to resolve problems that make you unhappy. Instead of feeling helpless and beaten down by the events that turn your days into gloomy ones, it is in your power to turn things around and bring about joy into the gloomiest days. Remember, the sun always comes out after the rain and that you have the power to bring about change especially your own life.

Not only does one have the power to make small decisions that affect one’s own life, but also bring about small changes that affect your surroundings. Do not let the world play you but play with the world. This idea is similar to the idea of not going around complaining that the world owes you an apology because the world owes no one anything, if was there first. Why not take an existential and progressive approach and make things better for yourself. Why wait for people to bring one happiness or sadness when you can go out and bring happiness to others? It only takes a smile to spread the warmth to another human being. A kind word sometimes can brighten up another person’s day. Even if it does not, you can feel good at knowing that you have tried to do a good deed and a smile can work therapeutic wonders for the health. Learn, live, love, and grow by taking life by its horns and ride the wild, untamed beast.

Take one step and a time and enjoy the experience of trial and error because this experience too is valuable. Life is happening while one is busy doing something else. Thus, do not just strive for big plans and forget to smell the flowers that you pass by. Wake up and smell the brewing coffee and appreciate small joys. Learning to appreciate little things will help make life more worth living. Life is certainly flawed and it does take a huge amount of endurance, persistence, stamina, and wit to have a productive life. Being lazy and passive just will not do. Learn from books that teach, gain knowledge through family and friends, and grow from good and bad experience. If you fall, wipe the dust off that scrape, put on an ointment, and hold your head up high and start again. One does not grow overnight, but slowly and surely through time and experiences that shape one’s colorful life. Thereupon, think existentialism and embrace your life because you solely are the architect of your own life.

In conclusion, existentialism or individualism ideas will help you improve your life and make it more fulfilling. Focusing on self-improvement will help you reevaluate your life through self-evaluation and encourage ways to help improve and better the self. You are in control of your life. Things are thrown your way but you can choose to catch them or duck away. Do not let life go floating by and throw away your objectives, aspirations, hopes, goals, and dreams. Make the best of each tomorrow, look to the past for inspiration, and enjoy the moment. Share the good with others and control your life.
