Greyhound Trip to Alabama a Nightmare

Back in February, 2003, I took a trip to Alabama to meet the girl I was dating. I am visually disabled so I called ahead of time to Greyhound’s customer service center to set up assistance for me on my trip, as I was instructed to do after purchasing my Ticket. I got everything set up with the representative, and hung up the phone.

I arrived in Morgantown at the Greyhound station, and went to the desk to let the attendant know that I would require assistance onto the bus, and for the rest of my trip.

The Bus arrived on time, and I boarded. I sat down in the very first seat on the opposite side from the driver, which is where they put people who are disabled so that the driver can watch out for them and let them know when they get to their next station.

The first section of the trip between Morgantown and Pittsburgh, PA went fine, and I boarded the next bus in Pittsburgh with no problems.

After we left Pittsburgh, and arrived in Columbus, I reminded the driver that I would need assistance to get to my next bus, which he was supposed to help me with. The driver proceeds to tell me, “You will have to ask one of the attendants for help.” I stood there and thinking I was going to miss my next bus, because I couldn’t tell who were attendance and who were pedestrians. I didn’t want to ask just anyone for help, because you never know who they are, and what they might do.
