Have you ever wanted to make ornaments for the different holidays but thought it would be to time consuming?
There are ornaments that you can make and that are easy enough for children to do with a little help or supervision. These ornaments are called “White glue ornaments”.
White glue ornaments are very easy to make and only take a few minutes to complete once their dry. Here is the way I make the white glue ornaments.
1. You will need some wax paper and cookie cutters. Lay the wax paper on a smooth flat surface. Take the cookie cutters using the ones for whichever holiday your doing and lay them on the wax paper. Take a pencil and trace around the cookie cutters.
2. Take any brand of white glue and squeeze it out following the lines you made from the cookie cutters. Once you have made the outline fill the ornament in with glue. Then move on to the next ornament.
3. You can now add glitter, sequins or anything else you want to the ornament. These things will dry on as the ornaments dry.
4. Once the glue has started to firm up ans is no longer runny make a hole in the top of the ornament using a toothpick or straw. This will be where you attach the hanger.
5. Your ornaments will need to dry for at least two or three days. When they don’t look white anymore start testing them to see if their dry. You will know their dry if their firm to the touch.
6. Once the ornaments are dry you can peel them gently off the wax paper.
7. Your white glue ornaments are now complete. You can now attach a ribbon or hanger for hanging.
This is a fun family project. Once the ornaments are dry you will be ready to show off your family’s white glue ornaments.
I made these with my children every year and we hung the ornaments on our Christmas tree. It was fun to work and create the ornaments together and to see the end result on the Christmas tree for all to enjoy.
