WWE Smackdown 11-4-11 Results

Match 1: Randy Orton v. Cody Rhodes (Street Fight)

The two struggled in what seemed like an eternal lock up, until they broke free of each other and the action began. Orton tried to wear Cody down with a takeover headlock, but Cody forced his way up to his feet. He shot Orton into the ropes but Orton came back with a shoulder block, and added a drop kick to boot. Cody rolled out of the ring for some reprieve and Orton followed. The temporary distraction by one of the baggers allowed Cody to pull Orton into the steel steps and then assault him at ringside. Cody threw Orton into the ring apron and then pounded him with fists to the head. He dropped Orton to the floor outside and dropped a knee on him, then rolling Orton back in the ring and going for a pin. When Orton kicked out, he rolled to the ring apron, and as Cody approached Orton bounced Cody’s throat across the top rope. Orton took control throwing Cody into the steel steps and then launched him violently into the barricades, clotheslining him over. Orton followed Cody into the crowd and the two fought through the aisles amongst the people. When they made it back to ringside, Cody tried to shove one of the baggers into Orton, but Orton got out of the way and hit Cody with a clothesline. When he threw Cody back into the ring, Cody rolled out the other side, and threw threw the other bagger into the ring in his stead. Orton, without hesitation, hit this bagger with an RKO as Cody watched from the aisle. Orton came after Cody as the two fought up the aisle and up to the entrance stage. Cody’s hand looked like it was cut, but he pressed on trying to suplex Orton off the entrance stage. Orton blocked his attempt and suplexed Cody instead. After about half a minute of trying to recover, Cody began crawling down the aisle. Orton walked up along side him and dragged Cody over to the metal barricades, laying in a series of fists into Cody’s head. Orton then dragged Cody back to the ring and was about to suplex him into it, but decided to bring Cody to the top ropes and superplex him into the ring. Orton tried to pin Cody, but was not successful. Cody hit Orton with a cheap shot and threw him to the outside. He triedto throw Orton into the barricades, but Orton turned things around, throwing Cody into the time keeper’s section instead. When Orton went to get Cody out, he was hit with Cody’s mask in the head, and fell flatly backwards to the floor. Cody beat on Orton at ringside, throwing him over the announce table. Cody then threw Orton into the ring, and followed him in, hitting a front suplex. He then tried an arm behind the head submission on Orton, but Orton fought ouf of it, hitting Cody with some shots to the head. He whipped Cody into the ropes, but Cody came back landing in front of Orton, and punching him in the mounth. Cody backed Orton into a corner and after some taunts and punches, drove a knee into his head. Cody whipped Orton across the ring, but Orton reversed, then chased Cody, only to be met with a pair of feet to the face. Cody clipped Orton’s knee and went to work on it, laying in some kicks, a knee drop, and locking in a figure four submission. While keeping it on, Cody pulled off his mask and hit Orton across the face with it. He signaled to the crowd that he would do it again, but Orton ducked and kicked Cody in the gut. Cody dropped the mask which Orton then used to hit Cody over the head. Orton then went to town on Cody, but his offense didn’t last long when Cody pushed away from an RKO attempt and nailed the Beautiful Disaster jumping spin kick. He then grabbed Orton from behind for the Cross Rhodes, but Orton reversed, and sent Cody flying to the ring apron. When Orton followed, Cody dragged his legs to the outside and the two exchanged a round of punches. Orton then threw Cody into the time keeper’s area but pulled him over the barricades, hitting him with a DDT on the floor. He then threw Cody into the ring and scored the winning pin in this tremendous match to open the show. As Orton was leaving the ring, and Cody was laid out cold, Orton saw a paper bag, so he brought it back into the ring and put it over Cody’s head. Then, on his way out again, Orton, took Cody’s mask, and showed the camera the big crack in it. In the meantime, Cody stumbled around with the bag on his head.

Winner: Randy Orton

Match 2: Tyson Kidd v. Ted DiBiase

The two men exchanged lock ups and take overs to start the match. When DiBiase whipped Kidd off the ropes, Kidd flipped over the ropes backwards kicking DiBiase in the chest. Kidd then came over the ropes to land a body splash on DiBiase. DiBiase briefly reversed things, but Kidd soon rolled him up for a pin attempt. Kidd tried to lock up a sharpshooter but DiBiase reversed by snapping on the Million Dollar Dream while both men were down, but then got to his feet still holding Kidd and hit him with Dream Street, and got the win.

Winner: Ted DiBiase

In the back, Mark Henry interrupted his interview to confront Daniel Bryan asking if Bryan was eyeballing him and his championship. Henry said he doesn’t care when Bryan is waiting to Wrestlemania or the year after Wrestlemania to cash in his chance at the title, he was not going to let him disrespect the current champion. Henry then said that he was going to demand that Teddy Long grant him a match with Bryan tonight, to which Bryan said that he’ll see Henry in the ring.

Match 3: Alicia Fox v. Natalya

The two locked up as Natalya took Alicia over with a headlock. They both got up as Natala whipped Fox off the ropes, but Fox hit her with a drop kick after a series of ducks and leaps. Natalya quickly turned the tide, taking Fox down, and locking on a sharp shooter. Fox escaped and kicked Natalya away. When she tried her next kick Natalya caught her leg, but Fox brought the other leg around hitting Natalya with an Inseguri kick. Alicia bounced off the ropes and delivered a flipping leg drop, then hooked Natalya’s leg to win the match.

Winner: Alicia Fox

Big Show came out to the ring and told Mark Henry that they have unfinished business for the championship and for every Smackdown that he doesn’t get his title rematch, he will knock people out. Christian came out, interrupting the Big Show. Christian said that he just thought Show’s quoting of “Mama Said Knock You Out” was his queue to come out for his match with Sheamus. Show said he was finished and was ready to leave, but Christian asked Show what makes him think that he deserves one more match. Show pointed out that the last match never ended normally since the ring broke. Christian said he doesn’t threaten people, because he is not a Southerner, but a civil Canadian. Christian then saw Show scratching his chin and asked if Show was getting ready to knock him out. Show told Christian to not be paranoid and he was not going to knock him out. Once Christian was assured, Show grabbed him around the throat and choke slammed him to the mat. As Christian recovered from the choke slam, Sheamus came to the ring. Christian tried to tell the ref that he couldn’t compete so the ref tried to tell Sheamus that Christian couldn’t go. Wade Barrett’s music played as Barrett came out and offered himself as a replacement.

Match 4: Sheamus v. Wade Barrett

Sheamus opened with the dominant end, nailing Barrett with some punches and a body slam. Barrett had a momentary reprieve but was soon hit in the face with a big boot by Sheamus. Sheamus stuck Barrett through the ropes and pounded on his chest. Barrett would soon take control with a cheap shot, and was able to continue staying on the offensive through Sheamus’s attempts to fight out. When Barrett had Shemus locked with a back breaker submission, Sheamus powered out but got hit in the gut by Barrett, and then hit with a gut wrench power bomb. Barrett tried to wear Sheamus down again with a knee to the back, while stretching Sheamus’s arms behind him. Sheamus got out against and whipped Barrett into the ropes, but Barrett came back with a big boot to the face. Barrett went for the pin, but Sheamus escaped. Sheamus tried to fight off from his knees, but Barrett subdued him. Barrett whipped Sheamus chest first into a near corner, the climbed to the middle ropes a dropped a forearm on Sheamus. After another pin attempt, Barrett went back to his knee to the back move, but Sheamus got out and kicked Barrett in the gut. As Sheamus set up for the High Cross, Barrett elevated him over his back, then kicked Sheamus into a corner. After another rear chin lock, Sheamus fought up to his feet and ran over Barrett with some axe handles and clotheslines. He put the boots to Barrett in the corner and knocked him to the mat with two body slams. Sheamus lifted Barrett up for the High Cross, but dropped him so he could fight off Christian who just climbed onto the ring apron. This gave Barrett the opening to roll up Sheamus for the win. After the match, Sheamus went after Barrett but got hit with a spear but Christian. Christian and Barrett left together heading to the back as an enraged Sheamus looked on.

Winner: Wade Barrett

Match 5: Sin Cara v. Epico

Epico was able to counter Sin Cara’s flipping back elbow by hitting him with a series of suplexes and slams. He then swiftly mounted Sin Cara on his shoulders with the Gory Special submission, but Sin Cara flipped him over after a few moments. Half a minute later Epico was down on the mat with Sin Cara headed to the top ropes for a top rope Senton splash, but a man in a black shirt came up behind Sin Cara and shoved him off the ropes. This was the man formerly known as Sin Cara Negro, and he and Epico assaulted Sin Cara, knocking him out after launching the masked superstar into a roundhouse punch by both men.

Winner: Sin Cara (by disqualification)

Match 6: Daniel Bryan (w/ Big Show) v. Mark Henry

Bryan hopped on Henry’s back trying to choke him out, but was quickly tossed off. Bryan tried to kick the legs from under Henry which seemed to be working until he charged off the ropes at Henry, when he was lifted off the mat and run into a corner. Henry then threw Bryan to the outside, as Bryan landed right in front of Show. Bryan regrouped and came back into the ring only to be met by a kick and then several big forearm shots from Henry. Henry knocked Bryan to the outside and followed him out, pressing Bryan’s face against the steel post until Show ran after him to stop Henry. When the ref forced Show to back away, Henry threw Bryan back into the ring and launched him into the corner with force, sending Bryan bouncing off to the mat. Henry dragged Bryan over to the ropes and stood on him, leveraging the rest of his weight on the top ropes. Henry tried to slow things down by cranking Bryan’s neck, but Bryan kicked him in the head, then several times in the legs, finishing off with a low drop kick and a series of kicks to the chest. For good measure, Bryan kicked Henry in the head, knocking him down. As Show excitedly cheered him on, Henry shoved Bryan out of the ring. Bryan came right back and tried to leap at Henry, but Henry countered by catching Bryan in mid air. Bryan tried to lock in a submission from his position, but was thrown to the mat by Henry. An angry Henry continued to pound on Bryan, backing him into a corner and charging at him with a big splash. Henry backed up and splashed him again, as Bryan collapsed to his knees. Not to be denied, Henry picked him up and splashed him again, but the next time he backed up, he was met by Big Show who entered the ring and laid Henry out with a punch to the face. The bell rang, but Show still went to the outside and revived Bryan, throwing water in his face, then handed Bryan his Money In The Bank briefcase and encouraging Bryan to cash it in. The dazed Bryan entered the ring and tried to hit Henry with the briefcase, but Henry caught him and hit him with the World’s Strongest Slam. Show came in the ring after Henry, but it was Henry that knocked Big Show on his behind, he then picked up Show and hit him with the World’s Strongest Slam as well. Henry rolled to the outside, when Teddy Long made his way out to the arena and announced that at Survivor Series, Henry would face Show in a rematch for the Championship. Henry seemed very upset by this, as Show who was still down on his knees was smiling.
