TV Land Set to Air 12th Annual Merrython for Christmas 2011

It’s a wonderful life for classic TV fans as TV Land gets set to air their annual showcase of holiday-themed sitcom episodes.

Just in time for the 2011 holiday season, TV Land’s 12th Annual Merrython will kick off on December 11, with Christmas episodes of new classic TV faves like “The King of Queens” and “The Nanny.”

Back in the day, TV Land aired retro classics like “Leave it to Beaver” and “I Love Lucy,” but in recent years more modern classics-as well as original programming-have taken over the cable network’s lineup. Still, one thing that hasn’t changed is the annual Merrython, which features 24 hours of holiday-themed programming.

Now in its 12th year, the Merrython debuted in 2000. It has become one of the most popular marathons on the network, with classic TV fans often posting lineup suggestions and wish lists on the TV Land message boards.

In past years, holiday episodes of shows like “The Beverly Hillbillies,” “The Lucy Show” “Happy Days” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” show have been featured on the lineup.
