There will be activities and events that would be difficult for your child to handle. For instance, if staying calm in department stores or mall is hard for them to manage, try to void it until they will learn how to control their behavior. If you want your ADHD kid to behave in situations like bringing them in a road trip or in an event, make sure that they are in full stomach or you have extra goodies in case they got hungry. After school if you want your kids to behave inside the car, give them time to relax or cool down first especially after a school activity before getting inside the car. This way, they could sit still while you’re driving. ADHD kid’s self-esteem will be affected if they are always being told off every time their irritating behavior manifests. So, try to ignore these annoying behaviors if that is really not significant. However don’t tolerate behaviors that needed to be corrected. Give your ADHD kids precise and clear choices. This will avoid them to get confused in making decisions. Stress is inevitable. To avoid stressed on your ADHD kid, allow them to have fun and relax. Give them time to do the activities that they love. They could also do some exercises that would help them release the stress. They could ride a bike or run around the playground. As much as possible, don’t control them with rules. This would avoid them to get mentally tired.
