Major Miscalculation

Are you really leaving so soon?
Can’t you linger a little longer?
Please, give me a few more games together.

I don’t care about this callus on my lip
Or the bruise you left on my hip.
I want to make more music with you.

Because you’re dazzling in the light.
You’re smooth and chilling to touch and
The noises you exhale make me move.

Home is my lips on you.
I’m part of something grander than myself.
Everyone adores me when I’m with you.

Just remember one thing before you go!
You’re nothing without me.
You’ll be cold and lifeless once you leave.

Don’t care? Fine, I’ll pack you away,
Pretend we never had a connection.
All those times together are memories.

When we stayed out ’til 1 annoying the neighbors.
Or when you got hurt and I got help.
Poof, gone, memories.

I know we’ve had rough spots when I forget you,
Or didn’t see you for a whole season,
But I never stopped caring.

I took pride in being with you,
I loved you with all my breath.
But I guess that was my problem,

You can’t love a piece of metal
When it’s not your major.
