Hair Section Wrap

Have you seen the wrapped hair fashions? People take one section of hair, and wrap it from one end to the other, and wear the colorful wrap for days at a time. Whether you have short hair or a long style you can easily wrap a section of it for a fashionable look. Wrap just one section, or many, depending on the style you want.

There are various things you can use to wrap your hair. Really narrow ribbon will give you one appearance; embroidery floss will create a completely different look. You can even use yarn. To make it happen no matter what material you use, start with a tiny, little rubber band.

Cut the floss or other wrap to be three to four times as long as your hair. Cut one piece for each color you want. You can use all of one color or make a pattern from two or more colors. Grab all of the ends and feed them through the rubber band. Bring all the ends together.

Section off a group of hair, comb it, and braid. Braid it as close to the head as possible, and all the way to the end. Slide the rubber band – with the embroidery floss – all the way next to the scalp.

Choose a thread from the first color you want to use and begin wrapping it tightly around the rubber band and hair, working downward. Wrap it as many times as it takes to make a band the size you want. As you wrap, keep the other floss pieces with the braid, so that you’re wrapping the braid as well as all the floss, except the one you’re using.

Any time you want, drop the color you’re using, and take up with another color. To do that, wrap the new color once or twice around the old color, then continue wrapping the new color down the length of the braid. It’s important that you wrap tightly and leave no hair sticking out of the wrap.

Should you happen to get to the end of the floss, yet you still have a lot of hair to wrap, it’s easy to add an extension to the set of floss. Cut some more, in the all the original colors, and slide them through the rubber band. Put the rubber band near the end of the last color, wrap a floss strand around the rubber band, then continue wrapping the hair.

The section of hair wrap is fashionable, stylish, and easy to do. It takes some time to wrap long hair but, after it’s done, you can wear the wrap for days. Just wash it along with your regular shampooing, and it’ll dry right along with your hair.
