Good Tips to Improve the Exterior of Your Home so You’ll Get a Buyer

Get A Buyer For The House You’re Selling:

I saw this article in the Erickson Living (Greenspring) Newspaper, article by Ashley Ruth, A Personal Moving Consultant, and I felt this would be beneficial to everyone who is getting their homes prepared to put on the market for sale. You must get your house in order and put some attention to the exterior of the house to bring on a great curbside appeal. Here are some great pointers to assistance you in getting the exterior of your house prepared for sale.

You’ll want to lure people in to look at your house because if the house has a curb appeal, it definitely will give them an impressionable appearance to cause a person to want to go inside and to see more.

The exterior paint is important because “no-one” wants to have a complete paint job on the exterior of a house they’re considering to purchase. Chipped paint on the house, handrails, porches, doors and window frames, can easily be fixed by you before the house goes on the market. This gives a house the impression it has been well kept and it is in good condition. It’s notT an eyesore to the public and the neighbors.

The landscaping is also an important item to take a close look at doing a major overhaul. “No-one” wants to look at a house that has towering trees growing up at the windows or tall weeds growing up against the house. Get trees and bushes pruned, do a major weeding and mulching job around the bushes and the trees. Remove all weeds from the cracks of the sidewalk and power wash it, because everyone who will be entering your house to take a look inside will enter through this main entryway.

The lawn should be manicured and any bare spots without grass should be seeded and straw placed over them. Make your lawn look as though it is a lush spot for you and your family. Do the same around the entire place and make sure the fence is satisfying to the eye and that the outbuildings do not have weeds growing up around them either. People, this does make a difference, I’ve bought and sold plenty of houses in my life, and I made sure it was appealing inside and outside to the eye of a possible buyer.

The mailbox should always be clearly visible to the eye and it should also list all the house numbers on it. If the mailbox has seen its best days…do not be afraid to replace it because people do notice the appearance of a mailbox.

Pressure washing – to improve the appearance of your house try using a pressure washer…it will give the house a spotless look in a matter of hours. It’s amazing the amount of grime and grit you’ll get off of the house and it will also remove mold on siding and sidewalks.

I hope all of these suggestions will help you to get your exterior in A-1 condition and you’ll get a lot of house hunting traffic to sale your home.
