Fright Night

Hi, I know it’s been a while but I’m back with a new review this time it’s a remake of one of my favorite Vampire movies of all time Fright Night.

This remake has the same characters as the original but in my humble opinion the characters are mis cast. The story line is some what the same with a few changes which in my opinion was for the worst. There is an old saying if it ain’t broke don’t fix it and this applies to this movie.

Being that this movie has been remade for the audience of 2011 it’s faster paced than the original but that is not always a good thing.

But enough of that lets talk a little about the plot just as in the original movie you have Charlie Brewster who has a Vampire move next door to him but unlike the original it is not Charlie that finds out his neighbor is a Vampire it is the character Evil Ed who in the original had a bigger role in the movie, this time around his part is rather small. After finding out Charlie’s new neighbor is a Vampire he tries to convince Charlie but Charlie does not believe him until Evil Ed goes missing and Charlie does some investigating.

Once Charlie finds out his neighbor is a Vampire he tries to save his mother and his girl friend Amy. He tries going to magician Peter Vincent who knows a little bit about vampires who is basically a drunken womanizer quite different from the Peter Vincent character in the original.

One of the only redeeming things about this movie is that it is not a foolish Vampire movie like Twilight but goes back to the old school Vampire myth.

There are some good parts in this movie but to few for me to really give it a great review. I would like to ask people who have not seen the original to watch that and then wait for this movie to come out on DVD and see which one they feel is the most entertaining.
