Demi Lovato Expresses Excitement Over New Album, Says Skyscraper is Just the Beginning

She’s on her way to a killer career comeback, and Demi Lovato is pumped that fans have taken so well to her single “Skyscraper.”

She told press, “When the song came out, it went #1 on iTunes instantly and it was so surprising to me. I wasn’t expecting that at all. It’s been such a whirlwind, and I’ve been so blessed and so thankful for it.”

Demi also noted that her authenticity has helped her connect with her following. “I’ve been pretty honest. My whole journey has been about telling my story and hoping that when I share my story, it inspires somebody. So, when I decided to come out with a single that was honest and about my journey and about standing strong and tall like a skyscraper, I hope that it inspired people.”

“I thought that there was a bigger opportunity for me to come out with a song that would inspire people, rather than it be just another dance song on the radio.”

Lovato promised that her new song “All Night Long,” featuring Missy Elliot will provide a fun-loving soundtrack for her fans as well.

“The song that Missy and I did together, Timbaland’s actually on it, too, and it’s fun. It’s about staying up all night long and singing it to the boy that you like, and it’s flirty and fun and it’s not too grown-up, but it’s grown-up enough.”

Venturing out for a relaxing midday meal, Demi Lovato was looking ever-so-stylish as she joined a gal pal for lunch in Sherman Oaks, CA earlier this week (August 30).

Clad in a pea green jacket overtop a cute little black dress, the “Skyscraper” singer toted a purse with a raccoon tail hanging from the side as she and her lady friend took to Marmalade Cafe for a bite to eat .

After finishing up their chowdown session, the ladies headed to Iguana’s Vintage clothing to do a little shopping before popping into Menchies Yogurt and then hitting a local dance studio.

The outing comes as Miss Lovato has been hot on the comeback trail after spending the earlier part of the year getting help for personal issues.

As for the changes she’s made in her life, Demi recently dished to E!, “I surround myself with people that are beneficial in my recovery and my recovery is still a daily battle and I definitely hang out with people that support me in making the right decisions.”

Clearly making all the right moves, the 19-year-old added, “I’m a happier and healthier person today because of the choices I’ve made.

After recovering from a serious eating disorder, a healthy-looking Demi strutted her stuff at last Sunday night’s MTV VMAs. Sadly, the high-profile appearance also meant she had to deal with some hurtful tweets regarding her weight.

The “Sonny with a Chance” star was being ridiculed by haters for gaining a couple of extra pounds – to which she responded, “I’ve gained weight. Get over it. That’s what happens when you get out of treatment for AN EATING DISORDER.”

Awhile later, Ms Lovato deleted that tweet and replace it with, “Guess what, I’m healthy and happy, and if you’re hating on my weight you obviously aren’t.”

Hopefully the negative comments weren’t taken to heart, because Demi looked absolutely stunning!

One person who seemed to agree with that was Lovato’s former beau Joe Jonas, whom she ran into at the annual MTV awards show .

The “Camp Rock” co-stars bumped into each other backstage at the Nokia Theater and, if there were any hard feelings, it didn’t show.

With cameras and press surrounding them, Demi and Joe happily stood next to each other and posed for several pictures.
