Bully Survival Guide

Bully survival guide 101

Bullying is everywhere, school or not. Kids can be so cruel these days. Believe me; adults are far worse than any child could ever dream of being. Children learn this bad habit from their parents and other children.

How will you help your child deal with bullying this year? Here are some great tips to get you off in the right direction.

Stand up for yourself. You should always stand up for yourself. Do not let anyone pick on you. Standing up for yourself isn’t easy for everyone to do. It can be done. If you are in the situation, talk back to them. Let them know, you will not put up with their behavior.

Do not stoop to their level. Bullying them back or someone else will not solve your problems. It is best to always remember to what it is to be picked on. This will help to prevent you from stooping to their level.

Fighting isn’t the answer. Violence isn’t the answer. Fighting leads to more trouble. It is not worth it in the end. Fighting isn’t just with fists, it is with words. Words can hurt far worse than any slap on the face. A slap stings a for a moment, words can wound a heart and soul for a long time.

Stay strong. Staying strong is the key. It will be hard to stay strong when you are being bullied. But you can. Staying strong is not letting the words of the bully get you down. It won’t be easy but it can be done.

Avoid them at all cost; if possible. This isn’t always easy to accomplish, especially if you have a class with them. If a bully situation occurs, walk away. Walking away is your best solution.

Report it; don’t worry about being a tattle tale. Bullies need to know bullying and teasing is wrong. This is another way by standing up for you by reporting it. It may help others who are being bullied by the same person, or group of people.

Bullying isn’t just in schools; it is out in the real world. Adults are bullies too. Bullies are not easy to deal with at times. People who belittle those for whatever reason are belittling themselves. They make themselves look bad.

Can bullying be prevented? No it can’t. You cannot control how others act, think or feel. It can’t be changed overnight. Bullying is everywhere. We must stick together and help to nip it in the bud.
