Wireless Technology – Before and After!

Wireless technology is on the rise in many different areas including internet, printers, and streaming of media from one computer to another. I remember ten years ago whenever I wasn’t even aware that wireless technology existed!

Whenever I first got internet, we had dial up and it was slower than the slowest. I never thought that I would be able to surf the web in under ten minutes because it took that long to load up the home page with dial-up! Over the years, I have experimented with different types of internet services ranging from dial-up to DSL through Charter Communications. I have to say that I am the most pleased with the DSL because of the speed that it allows me to surf the internet and the ability for wireless connectivity.

Technology has always been a hobby of mine and I am going to love it until the day I die, that’s just the way it is. Wireless technology is constantly on the rise and I don’t foresee it slowing down a bit. Having wireless internet in a home has many advantages. One of those advantages would be that any computer in the home will be able to connect to the internet with a password. It is also great to have a password on your wireless internet so that no outsiders can connect to it and steal your bandwidth without you knowing it. Another advantage is the ability to hook up a printer on the wireless network so that any computer in the house can print stuff off from that one printer. This eliminates the need to have a printer hooked up to every single computer in the house! Isn’t it great?

I was amazed the most by the ability to connect a printer up to the wireless network and use it because I had never hooked it up like that before. Now that I have mastered this tactic, I am able to connect any computer in my house up to the printer and print off the documents that are needed for my job and anything else. It isn’t hard to do either! Only hook up the printer to a computer and install it and then go to control panel, printers and other hardware, and then add the wireless printer. Once it has found it, it should automatically be available for use from that computer. This is necessary for each computer that wants to connect to this printer, although it pays off in the long run. Wireless technology isn’t going anywhere but up anytime in the near future!
