Why Remain Naked? Clothe Yourself

Clothe yourself

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve lived comfortably and were decent before their maker, Jehovah. Not until that day when they sinned that the relationship with the Father disappeared. They no longer were clothed but naked before Jehovah. The sin they committed removed the covering over them: the righteous covering. (Genesis 3:6-7)

The eating of the fruit of life forbidden them was one of the greatest undoing of Adam and Eve. It meant disobeying God thus separation from Him. We also see that it brought about the issue of nakedness; they saw themselves naked just as God saw them.

They devised ways to clothe themselves using branches from a tree. But this to God was not enough, so He provided them with another garment; that of skin. This meant an animal had to be sacrificed in order to clothe them. Symbolic of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Genesis 3:21.)It is through Jesus Christ that the Righteousness from God is revealed.

In fact, we see through the description above that before the coming of Jesus Christ, animals without defect were sacrificed to reconcile man to God. But these were only a temporal solution. They had to do it every year so as to appear before the Father as Righteous, which actually was a covering over them.

Every time we sin the covering is destroyed and we remain naked before the Almighty God.

Precious people, it is through Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God without defect, that true righteousness is revealed. We may try to provide a covering over ourselves even as Adam and Eve deed but we shall still remain naked before the Father. It is by accepting the true covering provided by God that we shall appear before ass clothed with a garment. And this comes only through Jesus Christ, the Righteous one from God. (Romans 13:14)

Even as God provided a skin garment to Adam and Eve through sacrificing an animal, He also provided, in this latter days, Righteousness as a garment through the sacrifice of His son Jesus Christ.

This righteousness is a requirement if we are to see and live in harmony with God.Every time we sin we destroy the garment and expose ourselves to nakedness.

Precious people, we are in the last days, let us always remain clothed with God’s righteousness. Amen.
