When I Converted My Religion

I was raised as a Baptist Fundmental beliefs. This was not the independent baptist either. The baptist i was raised in was much more stricter in their beliefs. I stayed as a baptist til i was a adult. That is what this family believed in as a whole in baptist. I have had alot of memories in baptist church that i was raised in. I was very active in vacation bible school, kids programs. Then as i got older i played the organ for the church alot. I loved playing the organ to me it was very inspriational to me. I was starting to teach the children hour during the church service. We would even have fellowship dinners which was my favorite. Once i became a teenage i was very involved in the Quiz team where you travel to other baptist churches and played against their quiz team. At the time my quiz team had to memorized the book of philippians. During the quiz team contest. The pastor’s and decon’s would ask us questions from the book of philippians. Each of the team sat on a buzzer when we jump up whoever light went first. That person would answer the question. If they get the answer wrong it would go to the other team to see if they can answer it correctly. To me it didn’t matter if we won or not. I had so much fun doing this. So to this day i still remember the memories and the book of philippians is one of my favorite book in the bible. From that time. throughtout my childhood to teenagers the church always have had their problems but kept going in their preaching.

A few things i had learn about being a baptist is they don’t teach everything that is in bible. That i don’t agree with on not teaching all of God’s word. This is one of the many issues that i can remember why baptist do what they believe in. I can remember their were some group of people that had come into the church and sat down. They sang with us and did everything by the bulletin. Until the preacher started to preach the group stood up and started to mumble outloud. The preacher had asked them to stop and translate which they didn’t translate it. So they didn’t stop they continue to mumble on. The preacher asked the decon”s to removed the group. Was told not to come back into the church unless they had a translater to speak in the words that they were doing. I was just a little kid when this happen to this day that has always bothered me. But the baptist did not preach on what this was and what the bible says about it. In the bible it talks about speaking in tongues. If those that have the gift to speak in tongues must have a translator is what it says in the bible. So when i became an adult and i had a good job at that time i had workers that were christains and they belived in speaking of tongues was a subject that was brought up since we all wanted to learn about each other beliefs and respected each other.
From this time on i had decided that i wanted to take adventure into other religions to see what i was really more comfortable with that fit my spiritual soul and what moved me the most. The baptist when they sing they would sing like your in a choir in a stand still. Not raising your hands out to God or any movements or praises to God. I had visited many churches before i had found where i had belong in religion. I had been in Lutherans, Methodists and Catholic churches and the Assembly of God. I had spoken to many demonations of all kinds. I went to the methodist thinking this is where i belong i felt the sprirt moved within me there. Until i was going thru a divorce from my husband for abuse of all kinds while i was teaching. Their was a decon that started to throw sticks and stones was very harsh with his words. Many people didn’t want me to leave cause of this but the decon didn’t want me there. I had resigned and left the church. I was very hurt i loved teaching adults and young kids. From their i did meet someone in my life. That time the guy i was seeing told me about his church and said have you ever been there? I said no i have not been to the Assembly of God church. So we went together to church that sunday. I had never felt the way i did in my whole life. I was truly moved in this church and felt this is where i belong. The assembly of god church had music of all kinds and instruments from flute to drums and organ and piano. It really was awesome experience for me to this day i will never forget this. It really meant alot to me to be able to feel the sprirt move within me. I was able to praise god and feel the love that was there with other christains. One of the many songs we sang was What an Awesome God he is. God is awesome in all the things he has done for me in my life. No matter what religion i did go in god knew i was searching for the right place to be and to rejoice in him. To be able to clap your hands even while we sing or lift our praises to god. To this day i am assembly of god. I found my church home where i belong. But the experiences that i have had with many churches tho. I did learned alot about other religions. My theory tho is this. I have respect for other churches and religion. I will not agrue what is right or wrong about each religion. The bottomline is we all belive in God. We all will one day reign altogether with God. We will all sing praises and rejoice in our God. So this is where i will share that we all can be christians in many faiths and still respect each other no matter what the religion is. Everyone has to find what is right within themselves to find where they belong that fits for their sprirtual needs. I don’t hate any religion at all. It took many years to find what i needed for my sprirtual needs. Thank you God for the many experiences in many religions that i have learned.
So this is why i have converted from baptist to assembly of God. Every religion has their own beliefs and how the run the church. To all the christains that are still searching or have found where they belong in faith. Be happy and rejoice in God. For those that are unsaved. You need to believe in God to really feel the wonderful feeling of love of God within you in sprirt. All you have to do is ask God to come in your heart and to forgive you of your sin that you believed that he died on the cross and rose again for you. God will forgive you of your sins. Cleanse you from your sins. From there you will feel the sprirt guide you and help you in where you belong with god in your life. Fellowship with other christains enjoy what God has to offer you. God bless you all in the things you do. God we love you and thank you for all that you have done for us. Amen.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 from the New International Version.
