Three Free Changing Pad Tutorials

Changing a diaper in public is never a pleasant experience. There’s never quite a convenient place to change your baby, and even if they do have one of those plastic diaper changers in the bathroom you never know exactly how clean it is. That is why I love having a diaper-changing pad that you can throw in your diaper bag and take with you. Diaper changing pads are easy to make, and they’re a ton of free tutorials online to show you how to make your own. Here are three of my favorite diaper changing pad tutorials.

Miss Sews it All: Baby Changing Pad Tutorial

Erika, who blogs at Miss Sews it All, shares a great tutorial for a super easy baby changing pad. This pad is very simple, and easy to make. Making it a perfect project for someone just learning how to sew.

One of my favorite things about this tutorial is she shares how to use regular fabric along with iron-on vinyl to make your changing pad waterproof. Which is great, because that means that you can make this diaper-changing pad out of your favorite fabrics, and it still be waterproof.

Vibrant Designs: Duo Pocket Changing Pad Clutch

I absolutely love this cute Duo Pocket Changing Pad Clutch from Julie at Vibrant Designs. Not only does this changing pad do its job as a changing pad it also does double duty as a storage clutch, storing up to four diapers and a travel size wipes case. This is great if you don’t want to carry a diaper bag, as it can just be tossed in your purse. You could even stash one in your car for emergency diaper changes.

Julie’s tutorial is very easy to follow with step-by-step directions, and plenty of photos of each step to help you along.

Baby Night Night Boutique: Hand Towel Diaper Changing Pad

Tricia at Baby Night Night Boutique shares a great tutorial on how to turn an hand towel into a diaper-changing pad. There are so many elements to this tutorial that I love, the fact that it gives you a chance to repurpose an item, the thickness and absorbency that this diaper pad offers, along with the fact that it rolls up easily for storage.

The tutorial is very well written with step-by-step directions along with plenty of photos of the sewing process.
