The 2012 Consumer Electronic Show Kicks Off January 10

If it blinks, beeps, clicks, has buttons, switches, or knobs, plugs in the wall or uses batteries, its latest innovation and model will be on display at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas starting on January 10 for four days.

Exhibitors from countries all over the world are overflowing the two million square feet of the Las Vegas Convention Center and setting up in the nearby Hilton and Radisson hotels as well as several Strip hotels.

High tech equipment like 3D television and robots to low tech items including cell phone skins and HDMI cables will all be on display.

A major feature at the Consumer Electronics Show will be the several “connected home” exhibits. If your house is in the clouds (cyber speaking) your smart phone can warm or cool the house, crank up the washing machine, and operate myriad other activities from anywhere you can go online.

Got a yen to trick your ride? You name your heart’s desire for electronic goodies and I’ll bet you can find them in the convention center’s North Hall.

In addition to the hard-, firm-, and software exhibitors, conferences and seminars to explore coming attractions to the world of consumer electronics are listed on the program.

According to the show producers. the Consumer Electronics Association with more than 2,000 member companies, more than 89,000 people attended last year’s event and 2,700 exhibitors from American Samoa to Zambia and 138 countries in between participated – including from the Vatican City.
