As another season of Teen Mom ends, viewers are left to wonder just what will become of these girls and their relationships. Some of the girls and guys from this series have dealt with many anger issues and lack of respect between the two of them. From physical abuse between Gary and Amber to problems with their parents accepting Catelynn and Tyler’s decision to give Carlee up for adoption., the series has shown that these teen parents have very real challenges in life.
Catelynn and Tyler made a decision to give their daughter up for adoption so that she could have a good life and they could have the time that they needed to finish growing up. Their parents were not happy with their decision and were not very accepting of their choice. Now that Tyler and Catelynn are set to graduate, they are having to decide if they will be able to have Carlee at the graduation ceremony with the adoptive parents or whether that would be too much of an issue with their parents. Knowing that Butch, Tyler’s dad, doesn’t want her to call him Butch instead of Grandpa it seems that their choice of having her at the graduation could be a bad decision . However, this season has found Catelynn and Tyler growing in their relationship and becoming more adult than they were last year. It seems as though these two may really make it to the alter at some time in the future.
Viewers have seen the constant violence and arguments between Gary and Amber. While Gary claims to truly love Amber, the season has really shown that Amber is trying to change her ways and become a better parent with or without Gary. Facing the fear that she might lose custody of her daughter seemed to be an eye opening experience for her .She has told him that he is not ready to get back into a relationship with him and yet, it seems as though he is trying too hard to win her back. I believe that for Leah he truly needs to give Amber some time to figure out just what she wants from the relationship or even if she wants a relationship. Amber needs to know who she is and how to deal with her anger issues before she attempts to have a relationship as it seems that Gary truly knows how to push her buttons and get her upset and arguing with him.
Maci has risen above the demands of being a single parent and grown much more as a person this season. Although, Maci and Ryan can not seem to get along without him calling her names and yet, she is trying to stop arguing with him in front of Bentley. Maci and Kyle are growing in their relationship , but she seems to want to rush the relationship along while Kyle has been clear in saying that he is not ready to deal with Ryan forever. Kyle seems to love Maci, but she seems to be inadvertely trying to push him away by almost pressuring him into a marriage commitment. Although, I believe that Maci and Ryan will never be a couple again, I believe that the two of them can find a way to deal civilly with each other for Bentley. I also think that if Kyle and Ryan can find a way to get along , life can be good with all of them.
Farrah has really seemed to change more this season than any of the others. She has completed her associates degree, lives on her own, established paternity of her child, dealt publicly with the death of Sophia’s dad, fought with the decision to move to Florida for the next step in her education and leave the baby behind to have time to find herself. Farrah has shown that she is not the spoiled brat that she has seemed in the previous years, but that she is a broken soul who may just need time to herself and time to discover her own happiness. As the season is ending, we see her choosing to go to Florida alone and give herself the time to grieve the loss of the love and dreams that she had before the death of Sophia’s dad.
Where these girls will be at the start of Season 4 we can only guess at this time, but I am sure that fans of the show will be anxiously awaiting their arrival back on the air and I am certain that these girls have learned much from the time they found out that they were pregnant until now and I am sure that these girls will have grown even more by then.
