Review: Powerhouse Streak Free Glass Cleaner Wipes

I was driving to work this morning and, as I was making a turn, the sun caught my windshield and I discovered it was so dirty, it created a glare I simply could not see through. This, of course, concerned me a bit so, since I had planned on stopping at the store anyway, I ended up looking for something to clean my windows.

The store I was at happened to have a $1 aisle and, in that aisle, I noticed a container of Powerhouse Streak Free Glass Cleaner Wipes. Even though they weren’t specifically designed for cars, I decided to take a chance on them.

Unfortunately, even at $1, they were a waste of money.

I had a bit of time yet before work so I decided to use one of these while I was still parked in the store’s parking lot. This proved to be a bit of a mistake. Let me put it this way, when the wipes advertise themselves as being streak free, that isn’t even close to being the truth. I wiped the inside of my windshield (where most of the dirt was) and it streaked so badly, I had an even harder time seeing out of it. In fact, I had to stop at a gas station and use some of their windshield cleaner just so I didn’t hit some kid on their way to school.

My first thought when it came to this product was they were designed for cleaning the windows on my house and not my car’s windows (though I’m not really sure if there really is that much of a difference). So, I gave the product the benefit of the doubt and didn’t judge it completely until I had a chance to try them at home too.

It only took me a few minutes to eat lunch (I just warmed up a leftover pot pie) and, since I had plenty of time yet, I took the time to give these wipes a second chance. Just like with the car, they left a major streak across my window that was not easy to get rid of (I had to find the glass cleaner we already had in our laundry room cupboard). So, unfortunately, these did not live up to expectations again.

Needless to say, I am very disappointed with this purchase. They might have been very affordable but this is not a product I would recommend using; especially in your car.
