Free EFL/ESL Conversation Questions: Medicine

Medicine is a great topic to get your EFL/ESL students to speak in English. It encompasses so many things and opens up so many subtopics. The following questions have proven successful in my EFL/ESL courses. I’m sure they’ll work out nicely for you as well.

How has medicine improved in the last 10, 20, 30 years? Do you take medicine without questioning its usefulness or do look for alternatives before taking it? Do you believe in eastern medicine practices? Do you take aspirin for your headache or do you wait it out? Have you had an experience in which you took some medicine and it really cured you? When’s the last time you took some medicine, and, what was it for? Do you always read warning labels before taking some medicine? Have you ever become sicker due to the fact you took some medicine? If you were to create a medicine that cures something, what would that something be? Do you consider certain foods to be medicine? Which ones? Are there types of medicines that you would never take? Which ones and why?
