Farms Offering Fall Events in Maryland

The fall is my favorite season complete with colors in hues of reds, oranges, and yellows, falling leaves and crisp fresh air. The weather is perfect for outdoor activities and the new produce is ready for the picking.

Rodger’s Farm located in Stevenson, Md on Greenspring Valley Road has plenty to offer for the kids. If you are looking for a place where you can do it all, then Rodger’s Farm is your place. They have a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, hay rides, mazes (even a special one for the little ones), and a hay play area. There is a corn sandbox, authentic tee pee and a picnic area. Don’t forget your fresh apple cider and local produce! Just when you thought things couldn’t get any better, they offer a animal farm with sheep, pigs, cows and turkeys too!

Open September 17th-November 6th to the public.
Hours: Friday 12P.M.-6P.M., Saturday & Sunday 10A.M.-6P.M.
Fridays in October the Flashlight maze is open until 10P.M.
Rates for maze, hayride, and farm 13-adult is $8, children $6, and under 4 are free.
Rates for farm and hayride only are 13-adult $7, children $5, and under four free.
Military personel receive a $1 discount.

Spring Meadow Farms located in Upperco, Md offers school tours, festivals, and Friday night bingo! September 17th is their apple festival complete with a pie eating contest, live entertainment, food, and games. For $7, the kiddos enjoy a straw maze, inflatable obstacle course, and unlimited pony rides. Right now all nursery items are 50% off!

Weber’s Cider Mill Farm, located in Parkville, Md offers a variety of fruits and vegetables to choose from. When fall comes around, Weber’s has over 20 types of apples available for the picking starting September 17th. That’s right, you can pick your own! Check out their harvest calendar to find out when the produce of your choosing ripens.

September 17th & 18th is Weber’s annual Johnnyseed Festival from 11A.M.-5P.M.

Summers Farm located in Frederick, Md offers everything you can imagine for the kids. You’ll definitely want to check this place out! Activities include rubber duckie races, pedal cart preakness, corn maze, pumpkin patch, giant slide, hay rides, rope maze, farm tunnels, straw mountain, a pumpkin train, and more! There is also a barnyard full of animals to see and pet.

On Friday and Saturday nights from 5-10:30p.m. beginning September 30th, Summers Farm offers “Nights at the Farm”. Patrons can enjoy hayrides, an apple canon, and the corn maze at night (don’t forget your flashlight)!

Campfire rentals are available and can accommodate thirty people for three and a half hours for a cost of $55. The fee does not include the adventure admission and a reservation is required.

If you are looking for some fresh organic local produce, check out One Straw Farm. Fruits and veggies are delivered and sold across Maryland at local restaurants, retailers, and farmer’s markets. Their website features recipes and tips and a harvest chart for you to take a look at which produce is in season. One Straw also offers CSA membership.
