Silly Sally Sue Goes Trick or Treating

Silly Sally Sue likes to trick or treat;

going door to door, up and down the street.

You should see her costume; it really is a hoot.

Her purple socks tucked jauntily into her father’s boot.

You should hear her as she walks with a Flippety flippety flap.

Her mother’s sheet around her neck goes whippety whippety whap

She wears no mask and she doesn’t say “Boo.”

She just curtsies and says “How do you do?”

She has bells on her purple socks and a dot on the end of her nose.

I’ve thought and pondered and pondered and thought, but who she is I STILL don’t know.

She has a bag she drags along

As she whistles a tune and sings a song.

Twee Dee Twee Doo

I’m talking to you.

It’s Halloween.

Do you know what that means?

Jack O’ Lanterns and candy corn;

A night when the little ghosties are born.

I have a treat and a trick for you.

Twee De Twee De Twee Dee-e Twee Do.

And when her song is quite complete,

She halts right there, in the street.

And from her bag she takes candy and toys.

She then tosses them out to the girls and the boys.

“I have no tricks, only treats.

Take them now, and please brush your teeth.

Be sure to share with your little brother.

And for goodness sake, please kiss your mother.

Be safe tonight you goblins and ghosts.

Look both ways and dont trip on your cloaks.

I have to go, I really should scram.

Its my night to make rhubarb jam.

Then off she goes flippety flap.

Whippety whippety whippety WHAP

A silly girl with a silly song.

Whippety flippety whippety FLAP.
