Polish Member of European Parliament Slams Pakistan Killings of Baloch Activists

A Polish member of the European Parliament who has worked closely with the Baloch activists at the U.N. Human Rights Council and the European Parliament has condemned Islamabad for its kill-and-dump policy in Balochistan.

Ryszard Czarnecki, Polish member of the European Parliament and chairman of the European Friends of Balochistan, urged the sending of an EU fact-finding mission to Balochistan.

Poland was enraged with Pakistan over the beheading of Polish engineer Piotr Stanczak by the Pakistani Taliban in February 2009. The Polish government accused powerful sections within Pakistan’s intelligence establishment of abetting in the crime.

“We welcome the statement of the honorable member Czarnecki. I am delighted to see the voice of Balochistan is now being heard in Europe as well. Pakistan must end its genocide in Balochistan,” said Jane Weisner, of Amherst, Mass., who is a human rights defender and presiding council member of the American Friends of Balochistan.

“Like the Americans, Afghans , the Europeans, Indians and the Baloch, the Poles too have suffered heavily at the hands of I.S.I. terrorism in and around Afghanistan,” Weisner lamented.

“The worst off, by far, are the Baloch people. My message to Islamabad is hands off Balochistan,” Weisner demanded.

“I am sure Mehran Baluch dedication towards the Baloch cause will help the people of Balochistan realize their dream of getting their right to self-determination without outside coercion,” she said.
