Pittsburgh Rocking Out with Paparazzi

Making plans for New Year’s Eve? Trying to decide what bar to go to or event to attend? Nine chances out of ten bars will be crowded and everyone will be going to some sort of event within any city. Pittsburgh is no different. Pittsburgh’s hit dance band Paparazzi have thought of this, instead of having their concert on one of the biggest party nights of the year, why not do it another night? They will be appearing at Kendrew’s in Aliquippa Pa for a rocking New Year’s Eve Eve. December 29th they will be rocking Kendrew’s at 2590 Broadhead Road in Aliquippa Pennsylvania.

Who is Paparazzi you ask? They are one of Pittsburgh’s hottest dance bands, if not the hottest. They perform hits songs we all enjoy including Katy Perry’s “Hot and Cold” to classic hits as “I Love Rock N Roll” and “Living on A Prayer”. Paparazzi is a five member band consisting of Crissy Bungo – lead vocals, Eric Bresnehan – Keys/vocals/cowbell, Phil Herle -Guitar/Vocals, Josh Skrip – Bass/Vocals, and Kirk Shadel – Drums/vocals. There are other dance bands in the Pittsburgh area, but none like Paparazzi. The personalities of the band is the perfect combination of entertainment, randomness/silliness, and talent to make them a band to be reckoned with.

You never know what to expect when you attend a Paparazzi show from the costume changes of the guitarist Phil Herle to the performers coming off stage into the audience. One thing that sets this band apart from the other dance bands in Pittsburgh is they love their fans and will come off stage to dance with them. They have been known to make a big deal out of someone’s birthday including Phil singing to the birthday guest in his best Marylin Monroe voice. Paparazzi has many elements that make them different from the rest, things that you have to see to believe.

The performance is one thing, the entertainment; but the singing and talent is another. Crissy Bungo and Eric Bresnehan both have voices that aspiring singers would die to have. When Crissy belts out “Chain of Fools” you could swear she was channeling the queen of soul herself. The lights and effects of a Paparazzi concert leave you feeling like you seen a performance at say Consol Energy Center or something. One of the best aspects of a Paparazzi concert is the audience participation. During several songs Crissy, Eric and Phil will come off the stage and dance with the audience. “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” is one of those songs where Crissy leads a congo line of women dancing through each venue. What better way to acknowledge the women and make them feel special than to parade around a venue with the hottest lead singer in Pittsburgh?

Recently the band performed at the Rochester Inn in Pittsburgh for possibly one of its best performances to date. It wasn’t just a normal performance, but also a celebration of their roadie’s birthday. That is the type of thing that makes Paparazzi stand out from among the rest. Not only was the band pumped up and excited so was the crew as well as the audience. Everything was perfect for this performance. Paparazzi not only recognizes the audience, but also recognizes the hard work the bartenders put into serving the fabulous people that come out.

Come on out to Kendrew’s at 2590 Broadhead Road in Aliquippa for New Year’s Eve Eve and ring in the new year a little early with Paparazzi and have a kick butt experience you will never forget. If you are unable to make it to the December 29th show be sure to check out Paparazzi at Rodney’s in Irwin Pa on January 22, 2012 at 10:00 PM and help Paparazzi show Rodney’s what a Paparazzi show is all about.
