#OpGlobablBlackout More Threats New Targets Perhaps the Beginning of the End?

As we move into the latter part of the weekend, many of us are waiting to see what happens next in regards to the latest threats from the world wide group of hackers/protestors who call themselves Anonymous.

Operation Global Blackout as they are calling it is set to take effect 72 hours after the release of their latest video on YouTube, this video is targeted at Congress with the message “To those who support PIPA and SOPA. To those congressmen who want to vote yes on these bills. We are not fucking playing.” and aimed with the mission of getting MegaUpload the file sharing site shutdown on Thursday reinstated.

Several other threats were made within the video, Anonymous made claims to have gained access to the servers for the UN, Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Capital One, US Bank, Chase Bank, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. They state that if their demands are not met within 72 hours of this video posting.

Anonymous acknowledge that MegaUpload contained some copyrighted materials that were being downloaded and state that the shutdown of the site was not an effective anti-piracy measure and will not stop the piracy.

As well as taking down the websites mentioned they also claim to have access to the databases of the banking institutions mentioned and will obtain all client account information held within them.

They further go on to say they want to reassure citizens, however, that they are not going to compromise their information. They only want to make a statement to Congress.

Where will his stop, will the Government or Anonymous back down first or will it escalate until it reaches catastrophic world changing events.
