How to Avoid Missing Out on Concert Ticket Sales Announcements

There are many great tutorials on the web about buying concert tickets — how to nab good seats, get discounts, etc. However, in order to apply these strategies, you need to know when tickets are going on sale! Luckily, you can easily set up a Ticket Sale alert system to improve your odds of learning when tickets for your favorite band’s concert will go on sale.

Set Up Email Alerts with Ticket Sellers
The predominant ticket seller today is Ticketmaster. If you sign up for a free account with Ticketmaster, you can use is its event alert feature to your advantage. This feature allows you to create email alerts for bands, sport teams, and venues. So if you want to see Band XYZ when they play near you, set up an alert for both the band and the venue(s) near you. (Other ticket sellers may have similar alert systems.)

Set Up Email Alerts with Pollstar
Pollstar is a website that provides information on concerts. You can sign up for a free account and with that be eligible to sign up for email alerts for bands or venues (a free account has a limit of about half a dozen alerts).

Set Up Email Alerts with the Band’s Official Website
Many bands have websites and official mailing lists that you can subscribe to; sign up for your band’s email list so that you get tour announcements from them.

Set Up Google Alerts
Lastly, you can subscribe to a Google Alert for news concerning the band you so badly want to see. It’s very easy to subscribe to a Google Alert; all you need to do is conduct a Google news search. To do so, click on the “News” link at the top of the Google search page and then enter the name of your band. You’ll then get a page of results; at the bottom of that should be a link providing you the option to create an email alert. Click that and you’re set.

As you can see, it’s very easy to cast a wide net and set up a multi-source alert system that will notify you as to when a band you want to see is touring. Simply set up a system of email alerts from a few key sources and the likelihood of you not hearing of a band’s tour date will diminish greatly.
