Grammy Nomminations: Tina Fey Takes on Betty White in the Battle of the Funny Ladies

Move over Kathy Griffin, the real battle of the funny ladies is on this year as Tina Fey takes on Betty White in the ultimate battle of the funny ladies.

In a night that is typically meant to honor the merits of the music industry, some of the focus is going to have to be shared with some of the funniest actresses on network television. At issue is the award for Best Spoken Word Album which has Tina Fey nominated for her reading of her “Bossypants” and Betty White nominated for her reading of “If You Ask Me (And Of Course You Won’t)”.

Given the amazing talents of these two funny gals, we can have another split screen moment inspired by the recent pageant play at the 2011 Emmy Awards during the award for Best Actress in a Comedy. While I wouldn’t expect both nominees to storm the stage to stand side-by-side beauty pageant style while waiting for the winner to be announced, their facial reactions should tell the whole funny story.

The fabulous Ms. Griffin is making her move to finally bring home her very own Grammy. The “My Life on the D-List” star infamously made her gratuitous campaign for a Grammy Award public back in 2009 with her Grammy nominated comedy alum “For Your Consideration”. Her second attempt came last year with the album “Suckin’ It For the Holidays”. With no wins to her name, Kathy is trying to make the third time the charm with her latest nomination for the album, “Kathy Griffin: 50 & Not Pregnant”.

No matter which of the funny ladies leaves the stage with a golden girl in her hand, the 2011 Grammy Awards are sure to have their share of funny moments courtesy of these very funny gals!
