Fashion Mistake or Modern Art: Did Sarah Jessica Parker Let Her Kids Finger Paint on Her Dress?

While husband Matthew Broderick took their children out for Halloween this year, wafer-thin wifey Sarah Jessica Parker was on the other side of the world promoting her newest movie and wearing a frock that was more frightening than the average Halloween costume. In Australia to promote her film “I Don’t Know How She Does It,” the actress wore a chartreuse Vera Wang dress with a big colorful splotch on it that looked like children James, Marion (who goes by Loretta) and Tabitha snuck into her suitcase and went on a finger painting rampage.

Though Style Bistro called the design on SJP’s dress “a mesmerizing ink blot print on a simple silhouette,” it looked more like something randomly finger painted by Parker’s trio of junior Picassos.

The “Sex and the City” actress’s white canoe-length high-heeled shoes did nothing to enhance the overall look of her outfit, making her feet look long enough to slalom down a snow-covered hill sans skis.

The only saving grace to the feline-eyed actress’s fashion faux pas was the way she wore the clingy fabric. At 46, the svelte beauty can still manage to wear a body hugger with a waste-sculpting tie without bulging out in all the wrong places like a Snooki or Kim Kardashian.

Still, we think the wavy-haired actress should stick to her more classic looks, like the fabulous floral-topped dress she recently wore in London that made her look like a yummy wedding cake.

And though you almost needed sun glasses not to blink from the brightness, the “Failure to Launch” star also looked stunning in the flowy red blouse and shocking pink pants that comprised the two-toned outfit she wore on her “Late Show with David Letterman” appearance to promote her most recent movie about a female exec who must juggle a job, children and husband with the finesse of a circus clown.

Whether twin daughters Tabitha and Loretta will take after their fashionable mum is hard to say. For Halloween they dressed up as a strawberry and sheep, respectively, but wore sneakers while strolling the the streets of Manhattan on their annual candy hustle. The adorable duo have apparently yet to develop a hankering for heels like their shoe-loving mom or kitten-heeled colleague Suri Cruise.
