Fall Craft Fairs in Southern Indiana 2011

With the season of fall comes the cool weather, changing leaves and shorter days, but it also brings folks outside to enjoy fall craft fairs. Southern Indiana is a beautiful area for locals and visitors to enjoy fall craft fairs with many other activities for people of all ages. The craft fairs listed below draw artisans from across the country.

Celebrate Memphis

This will be the third year for the Celebrate Memphis festival and the activities cover a six acre area, so there is plenty to see and do during three days. There will be arts and crafts booths with photography, mosaics, horseshoe art, crocheted goods and more, a balloon glow, a variety of bands playing different music genres, a 5K run and walk, beer and wine garden, kid’s rides, and much more! Memphis is located just 15 minutes north of downtown Louisville.

Harvest Homecoming

One of southern Indiana’s favorite craft fairs, which has been going for more than 40 years, Harvest Homecoming is a large celebration that draws thousands to historical downtown New Albany, Indiana. Crafts booths featuring sewing, paintings, sculpture and much more will stretch across street after street. Food, games, rides, a parade and many other fine events will be happening during this large venue.

Sellersburg Celebrates!

From I65, take exit 9 – Sellersburg – and go north on Hwy 31 (Indiana Ave.)

Located just 10 minutes north of downtown Louisville off I-65, Sellersburg Celebrates! will have crafts for young and old featuring wood work, quilts and other sewn items, art work and more, with a parade, balloon glow, rides, lots of fun demonstrations, contests for kids, face painting, music and more.

Art in Speed Park

I 65 N, take exit 9. Follow the signs, 2 miles straight to Speed Park on Rt. 31

One of southern Indiana and Louisville’s most popular crafts fairs, Art in Speed Park will welcome over 20,000 people to this two day event. Artists from near and far come to Art in Speed Park to showcase their work featuring oil, watercolor and acrylic paintings, metal and wood sculpture, wind chimes and more. Visit the wine garden, listen to the live music, let the kids romp on the playground, enjoy some fine food, all under the shade of beautiful, mature trees in Speed Park.

Crafts and fine art will fill historical downtown Madison, Indiana showcasing jewelry, glass, paintings, sculptures and much more at his juried art show. More than 250 artists will be on hand to appreciate while also enjoying live music and a food selection that won’t let anyone go home hungry.
