Angelina Jolie Talks Darker Days with “60 Minutes”

Opening up in a brand new interview, Angelina Jolie sat down to chat with CBS’ Bob Simon for the network’s “60 Minutes”.

In the episode set to air this Sunday (November 27), the “Salt” actress revealed that she feels she’s quite lucky to be alive after the darker days of her youth.

Jolie told, “I went through heavy, darker times and I survived them. I didn’t die young, so I’m very lucky. There are other artists and people who didn’t survive certain things.”

The 36-year-old continued, “People can imagine I did the most dangerous and the worst. For many reasons, I shouldn’t be here. You just think [about] those times when you came too close to too many dangerous things, too many chances taken, too far.”

Adding further, Angelina dished, “I’m still a bad girl. I still have that side of me…it’s just in its place now…it belongs to Brad [Pitt]. Or…our adventures.”

Gearing up for her next iconic female lead, Angelina Jolie has signed on to star in “Gertrude Bell,” a biopic about a pioneering figure in the Middle East.

Under the possible direction of Ridley Scott, the project will be developed with his Scott Free Productions, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

As for Bell, she has been described as “the female Lawrence of Arabia for the impact the English woman had in the Middle East and her work in establishing what would become the modern framework for Jordan and Iraq.”

“The With a passion for archeology and languages, she wrote about her adventures in the Ottoman Empire and desert kingdoms, traveling in not only a predominantly male world but one whose culture and religion was very alien to the British Empire,” adds the magazine.

As for Jolie’s partner, he’s one of the most popular, highest-paid actors in Tinseltown, but Brad Pitt recently admitted that he’s getting tired of being in front of the camera.

During an interview on Australia’s “60 Minutes,” the “Fight Club” hunk shared that he’d like to hang up his acting hat at age 50.

“Three years… I am really enjoying the producing side and development of stories and putting those pieces together…Getting stories to the plate that might have had a tougher time otherwise.”

As for having more kids with Angelina Jolie, Brad explained , “You know, I don’t know that we’re finished. I don’t know yet. I don’t know.”

“Those late nights are so fun when one of them’s up or those mornings when they get up and make pancakes or something. That’s what it’s about.”

Pitt also shared his take on what it means to be happy. “I think happiness is overrated, truthfully. I do. I think sometimes you’re happy, sometimes you’re not. There’s too much pressure to be happy. I don’t know. I don’t really give a sh–. I know I will be at times and I know I won’t be at times. Satisfied, at peace, those would be more goals for myself.”
