Whenever my dad caught us
doing something stupid
he would ask my brother
and I
“What’s the Big Idea?”
I was tempted to say
“The Theory of Relativity”
My brother thought
“Evolution”
would be a good comeback
The Expanding Universe, The Big Bang Theory
and Black Holes were also
possible answers.
But when an ex-marine/father
asked “What’s the Big Idea?”
we learned the best idea
was to keep
quiet
