My entire life I have suffered with a pale complexion and sensitive skin. I also have very dry skin, especially on my face. After trying many different brands of moisturizers that did not work for me, I was excited to give Burt’s Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream a try. This is a new product and it is part of the Burt’s Bees natural skin solutions.
Burt’s Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream comes in a 1.8 ounce container with a very chunky pump style dispenser. The container states that it is 99.0% natural and that it can be “used daily in the morning after cleansing with (Burt’s Bees) Sensitive Facial Cleanser. The directions say to gently smooth the cream over the face and neck area.
Due to my sensitive skin, many moisturizers for the face leave mine looking red and blotchy. I find the scents of many offensive. When I read the Burt’s Bees box which stated “Moisturizes without causing redness or irritation”, I thought I had finally found the perfect moisturizer. Unfortunately, my excitement was short lived.
Although Burt’s Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream claims to be fragrance free I do detect a slight scent, but it’s not strong enough to bother me. It also claims to be hypo-allergenic and dermatologist tested. I do love the fact that Burt’s Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream is made with cotton extract to soften, rice extract to moisturize and aloe to soothe, and that it contains no parabens, phthalates or petrochemicals.
While It does contain zinc oxide, the product does not claim to contain sunscreen.
I am sad that Burt’s Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream did not work for my sensitive skin. Immediately my face turned red and it started to tingle and feel irritated. I wish I knew which ingredient or ingredients bothered my skin, because I love all natural personal care products and my daughter can use this cream without the probelms I encountered. It does seem to be a high quality product with very natural ingredients, but it just didn’t work for my skin.
