An ode to our efforts to make the season bright set in the traditional AA, BB form.
****** Adorn’d for Christmas ******
Our work is done; it’s time to play,
And make all ready for Christmas Day.
In vain, we try to deck each hall,
But find that Nature’s done it all.
Bare branches drawn with so a fine pencil,
The holly outlined by Jack Frost’s stencil.
Icicles that glisten; a blanket of snow,
Are wonders to see, a real Christmas show.
Bright painted sunrises crimson and gold,
Silver stars shine on the nights grown so cold.
Yet we’ll give it our best and not a jot less,
Bring the beauty indoors and so adorn Christmas!
