Planet of the Apes- Rise of the Apes

Over the weekend I got to watch the anticipated Planet of the Apes movie. I saw one of these a few years ago, and was curious so I decided to go. When I got to the theatre, I was rather surprised to find that there were plenty of seats. After getting my comfortable seat, the movie started.

The movie really wasn’t that bad. It had its ups and downs, but you really have to pay attention to the entire movie. If you leave for 5 minutes, you may miss part of the movie that makes another scene make sense. There is a particular scene of the movie where, while it seems like nothing, if you miss it, the last scene makes absolutely no sense at all. The acting and characters were very well played, and the casting was perfect.

There is plenty of action in it, and it’s amazing to see the animation of the apes. It’s very realistic, I thought that there were people in costumes. The story line seems boring at first but once it gets going, it’s interesting to see the interaction between the Ape named Caesar and his “father”. If you’re into sci-fi this is definitely one movie you’ve got to see.

If you like bloopers, if you watch real close, you can see a couple of these when the apes are crazy and overrunning the city. In one scene you’ll notice people running towards the camera, then on a camera change, suddenly the people in the background are running the opposite direction.

While this is just a short review, I don’t want to give off too many hints of the movie. You’ve got to see it. :-) I watched it a couple times as I missed part of the movie and had to see it again to make sense of it. Be sure to stay once the credits start, as they have another scene after a minute of the credits playing.
