My Love Affair with My Apple IPhone 3GS

Last summer, I jumped on the Apple iPhone wagon since my contract was up for renewal and I’d been idolizing the phones since they came out. I loved the idea of having a mini computer with me.

When I purchased the Apple iPhone one of the biggest draws was the apps on the phone. I debated between buying a Kindle eReader and an iPhone. At the time, I wanted a new phone so I bought a smart phone for its functions. Since the iPhone has so many features I’ll talk about some of my favorites.

On the phone, you’ll find Safari, Apple’s web browser. The browser has add bookmarks, history, add to home screen, mail link to this page and print. Add to bookmarks allows you to create a bookmark on your phone. I don’t like the fact that you cannot organize the bookmarks in ABC order. It does have folders to organize your bookmarks. Add to home screen is great for sites you frequent. Click on the icon on your home screen and you will go directly to the page. The Mail link to page is very handy for pulling up websites on your computer or saving them for reading later. I have not used the print option yet. The print option does let you pick how many copies and it will look for the printer.

The messages feature on the phone I use to text my family and friends. I love the touch screen and easy to pull up my contacts on the phone. You can text several people at the same time. I have the Emoji keyboard option for texting. It’s a feature you can text smiley faces and small icons, but it only works with other iPhone owners to my knowledge. The keyboard has several settings including: Auto Capitalization, Auto Correction, Check Spelling, Enable Cap Lock and Shortcut. To delete a message you’ll need to press the edit button and slide to delete

The Apple iPhone is wider than any other phone I’ve owned. It took a while to adjust to the bulkiness in my pocket. I’ve dropped the phone several times; so far the screen has survived with a plastic case. You can buy an otter box to protect the screen, but its thirty dollars. I do keep the phone inside a soft case to hold my headphones and phone together. For a long time, I didn’t know the headphones can be used to talk on the phone.

Buying an iPhone was a great choice for me since it’s a mini computer with a lot of great apps to help with everyday life. Want to keep organized? Use a calendar app. Enjoy reading? Use one of the eReader apps. If you’re looking for a reliable phone the Apple iPhone will work for you.
