I baked today, gifts for friends
I made their favorite things.
For Rita,
a batch of rain cookies,
vanilla thunder for Tom.
Cinnamon refrain
especially for Carla;
licorice dirt for Lyam.
I whipped up a batch
of ice cream paint
that Ira really likes.
Lemon torment is just the thing
for Lucy to eat tonight.
Apple knight
and green apple grapes,
a particular treat for Granny;
chocolate ocean coated
with pepper explosions
is what I made for Franny.
And last but not least,
I must not forget,
to bake up a peppermint baby
and soak it real well,
in a bubblegum river
to give to my neighbor, Sadie.
